The customer required to have the protective firefighting suit that met the general requirement in Ethiopia, meeting the LV2 requirement of EN 469 standard, and the suit should be designed to minimize the heat stress effect on firefighters and also maximize their comfort and mobility.
The basic style of SUPER ARMOR® REV model – 4-layer firefighting suit was originally introduced to the customer. We sent a sample to the customer for their approval, but they suddenly changed their mind and required a separable style, meaning you could separate the outer fabric from other 3 layers. After further communication and discussion, we decided to offer the separable style of REV model with a built-in DRD (Drag Rescue Device) system, so the firefighting suit became more flexible in use, and the additional drag function ensured the safety of the wearer when they passed out or got injured. This customized suit was highly praised and appreciated by the customer.
Allow us to introduce the features of SUPER ARMOR® REV model once again:
a. REV model has 4-layer construction, including outer shell, moisture barrier, thermal and inner lining.
b. REV model is made of inherently flame & heat resistant fibers, so the property will not wash out or wear out. The color fastness is over grade 4 which means it will be the same color even after 100 times of washing. The outer shell will not rot, mildew, melt or drip. It is resistant to penetration by liquid chemicals such as NaOH, HCI, H2SO4 and O-XYLENE as well.
c. Moisture barrier for water resistant properties. It shall be permeable ePTFE membrane laminated with nonwoven fabric which is heat resistant, water penetration resistant, breathable and blood penetration/blood pathogens resistant (Test Method: ASTM F1671).
d. Outer shell made of Inherently Flame Resistant Fabric, 93% Meta-aramid+5% Para-aramid+ 2% Anti-static. The outer shell’s abrasion resistance to be provided (Test Result ≥ 70000 rubs under EN ISO 12947-2).
e. Total weight of the REV model should be under 3.2 kgs for the size Large.
