Taiwan K.K. Corporation's knowledge of fabrics helped the customer.
2021/9/13 Taiwan K.K. Corp.A customer in Southeast Asia was looking for a cost-effective but good quality fabric for its new workwear series products. They were considering a MAZIC® new developed product and sent the fabric to a laboratory in Vietnam for Limited Flame Spread test (EN ISO 15025). Unexpectedly, the test failed because the afterglow/afterflame time was over 2 seconds and there was hole formation on the fabric and debris generated.
Taiwan K.K. corporation was very confident of the flame resistance performance of MAZIC®, and the fabric’s test result in our own laboratory in the factory was qualified. Therefore, we obtained the customer consent and sent the fabric to another world-famous laboratory for the same test. The test report declared that there was no afterglow, afterflame, hole formation and debris, which conformed to the Limited Flame Spread test requirement stated in EN ISO 11612 standard (garments to protect wearers against heat & flame). Eventually, the final test result convinced the customer and facilitated the shipment.
Note: Functional test result sometimes depends on the equipment and method that the test controllers use and their experience. Taiwan K.K. Corporation has more than 25 years’ experience about the R&D, production, test and improvement of Inherently Flame Resistant fabrics which results in our mastery of fabric characteristics. Thanks to the customer giving Taiwan K.K. corporation a chance to prove that MAZIC® completely meet the requirements of safety standards.
